Apply for coronavirus testing

If you are a barrister who considers your current work to be essential to the running of the justice system or you cannot work from home, and you have the symptoms of coronavirus, you can apply to the government to be tested for coronavirus. You can choose whether to get a test kit delivered to your home, or make an appointment a regional test centre.

Please note: the Bar Council is no longer acting as an administrator of testing, having previously stepped in to facilitate tests for barristers in the absence of an ‘employer’. Due to low levels of demand at this time, the quickest and easiest route for barristers to be tested is now directly through the government testing system.
